When I Was Greek is a selection of poems written over a forty-year period.
Some of the poems in this volume were first published in literary magazines, but most are new to print.
The poems fall into four groups. The Catslide Mass section is a set of reflections based on the Ordinary of the Mass. Poems in the second section arose from reflections on classical Greek literature. Those grouped in the third section (Quondam Physics) were triggered by thoughts on the natural and physical world. The final section contains poems written with children in mind, either as subjects or as readers/hearers.
